TickerAnimationIf you like checking news headlines, tracking eBay auctions, or keeping up with the latest blogs, then Guru News Ticker & RSS Reader is must-have software. The ticker delivers international news and information, highlights articles about topics that matter to you, and does it all within a single line of text scrolling across your desktop, taskbar or browser.

Or, try the unique Live Bookmarks feature, which displays an automatically-updating list of headlines in the left side of your favorite browser. To save even more desktop space, minimize the ticker down to a toolbar button and access headlines through a drop-down menu.

Don’t have time to read a full article when an interesting headline catches your eye? Simply hover the mouse over the headline to read a pop-up short summary of the story. Wait a few seconds longer for a drop-down window to open containing the article, or, with a click of the mouse, open the full article in your browser.

The Guru News Ticker & RSS Reader can deliver headlines from as many channels as you like. Stay on top of the news from channels such as Reuters, ABC and BBC. Track stocks, keep an eye on eBay auctions, search Yahoo and Google News. Monitor your favorite blogs, access Google’s GMAIL email accounts. The Guru News Ticker & RSS Reader is compatible with Unicode news feeds, enabling you to receive and read headlines in foreign languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Arabic.

The choice of Internet feeds is vast, and adding new channels to the program is a breeze, using the built-in Add Channel Wizard. You can select new channels from the many pre-configured in Guru or type in URLs for others. You can even use drag-and-drop to add new channels, and, once you’ve entered your username/password in a protected channel’s properties setup, Guru will deliver information from that channel without asking for your access identification again.

You can further personalize the news Guru delivers by adding search keywords to your channels. When the program displays headlines for stories that include your keywords, the headlines stand out in bold text. Guru is designed to show newer headlines in a different color, and colors are customizable, as are fonts and headline scrolling speed. Change the update schedule to have the program retrieve new headlines as often as you’d like, from every five minutes to once in two hours.

The Guru News Ticker text scrolls smooth and flicker-free. RSS, RDF and ATOM Internet news feed standards are supported, and the program fully integrates into the Windows desktop, the Windows taskbar and in Microsoft Internet Explorer.

The Guru News Ticker runs in four different modes:

  • Inside the Windows taskbar  (32bit Windows only)
  • Inside Internet Explorer
  • Inside Internet Explorer showing “Live Bookmarks”
  • Attached to the desktop (top or bottom of the screen)

Stop surfing for the news you want. Let Guru News Ticker & RSS Reader deliver it!
